Okay, so it started with candy glass.
I wanted to make some candy glass: essentially glass made out of sugar, just as a sort of "experiment."
Then came a mint syrup, which consisted of making a thick sugar syrup using mint as a flavor.
Next came the web site which gives the chemical properties of sugar, and at what temperatures sugar sets to different consistencies: something like a syrup, or a fudge, or a caramel, or a hard rock candy or glass.
This afternoon it was an attempt to make caramel that tasted more like butter toffee, and tonight it's an attempt to make fudge.
By the way, I still haven't figured out how to separate the candy from the wax paper. There must be a trick to it, but so far I haven't learned it...
